COUNTING SHEEP

Un-silencing of the lambs

Who made us believe that sheep are stupid? Why do we load 75 000 sheep on ships that travel vast distances for slaughter elsewhere - and how old is a leg of lamb?

BAANKSY and Joanne Lefson’s artistic collaboration aims to inspire people to ‘see’ farmed animals as unique and intelligent individuals that deserve better in today’s intensive farming systems – focusing specifically on the cruel and unnecessary ‘live animal transports’ whereby sheep, goats and cows are transported vast distances across ocean and land under extreme and unacceptable conditions that no consumer would ever support. Ships can transport up to 75,000 animals in one crossing and many do not survive. Most of us could not imagine the conditions that these animals are forced to endure.

If you're from a country that does not export animals on live transports, you are likely from a country that imports them from countries that do. Get informed by Googling 'Live Animal Transport' By knowing better, we can make better choices that will create a kinder and more sustainable world.

Proceeds from the sale of every artwork supports Farm Sanctuary SA’s mission to create widespread marketing awareness on the devastating effects of animal agriculture on animals - and the planet.
